The method for logging out of the mobile website version of Gmail, which is what you’ll be viewing on your Nexus 7, isn’t at all obvious. First, tap the top-left Menu button (three stacked lines). Now tap your Gmail username at the top then tap ‘Sign out of all accounts’.
You can keep everything on your Nexus 7 much more secure by creating user accounts. Your Nexus will need to be updated to at least Android 4.2. Tap the Settings icon followed by ‘About tablet’ in the System section and if the version is below 4.2 tap ‘Check now’ and follow the prompts. Now return to Settings, tap Users under the Device heading, tap the Add User button, then follow the setup Wizard.
