Windows Defender is a useful,
default security program that can
be used in combination with your
existing antivirus (AV) software as an
extra layer of protection for your PC.
Unlike AV programs, it doesn’t have a desktop shortcut, so it’s easy to overlook.
If you use a Windows 10 PC, there’s an
easy way to create a shortcut to run a
quick Windows Defender scan. This
quickly scans your PC for threats in less
than five minutes.
To create this shortcut, right-click a
blank area of your desktop, move your
cursor to New, then click Shortcut. Now,
type the following into the Browse field:
‶%ProgramFiles%\Windows Defender\
MSASCui.exe″ -QuickScan
(see screenshot
below), then click Next. Finally, name
your scan Windows Defender Quick Scan
(or something similar) and click Finish.
Now simply launch this shortcut whenever
you want Defender to scan your PC.
I've used Kaspersky security for a couple of years, I recommend this solution to everybody.
