There are various clever key combinations
in Android smartphones which will make
your life easier.
Switching apps:
Hold the Home key and
Android will show you a list of recently
used apps. You can reset the list on the
bottom right; tap on the pie chart on the
left and the Android Task manager will
open up.
Taking a screenshot:
Pressing the Home
and Switch-Off key will save a complete
screen as a screenshot. The resulting PNG
file can be found in the Android master
directory under “/Pictures/Screenshots”.
You will also get a notification in the
status bar from Android 4.2 version.
onwards. Tip:
The Google Nexus 4 and
some versions of HTC One use the Volume
control buttons for the screenshot function
but otherwise work in a similar way.
Mute calls:
If your cellphone rings at an
unfavourable time, it can be muted by
pressing one of the volume buttons, but,
in this case, the call is neither rejected nor
accepted. If you turn your smartphone and
place it screen-side down, you will get the same result.
Restart:
Instead of pressing the Switch-Off
button twice for several seconds, keep the
button pressed for one or two seconds and
the device options will open. Not only can
you initiate the phone restart from there
but you can also activate Offline mode or
control the sound.
